bestill my heart...mini plants

I'm a lover of mini things! I think I've mentioned this before. And strangely enough, I know exactly why I love minis...my great grandmother knitted and crafted mini little trinkets, my grandmother had a collection of minis, and my mom loved mini objects too. What an odd trait to be carried down the gene pool! Anyway, I saw these mini plants a while back on Design*Sponge and fell head over heels.

Sold by Etsy seller Tortoise Loves Donkey these cute and low-maintenance little plants are perfect for adding a touch of green - especially at this dreary, wintery time of year. I may even try creating some of these myself, as I just happen to have some mini glass containers lying around - I know, shocking! And might I suggest that these could make some darling, and green, wedding favours too?

my house: the master bedroom

With all of this talk of interior design, new house plans and bathroom renovations, I thought I would join in on the fun! I have lived in my house for four years now, and I love it, but it has definitely been a work in progress.

P. and I just recently finished our bedroom {why are master bedrooms always the last to get done?} and I wanted to share it here! We chose a soothing soft gray and green colour scheme, with dark accents and furniture. I found the cool New York canvas print at HomeSense and I love the graphic look it gives to the room! Recognize the little sheepy from Tel Aviv?

sweet inspiration

A good friend of mine bought me a subscription to Real Simple magazine for my birthday (thank you Rebecca!), and this month's issue has been sitting pretty on my coffee table, staring at me, every hour of every day, with the prettiest picture on the front. I can't stop looking at it. I love the mixture of the colours - soft green, bright yellow, white, and an accent of blue and red. So fresh and new! Just think of all the pretty things you could do with these colours at a wedding. In fact, I am trying to convince Shayna (fellow Bloomer) to use these colours for her "practice wedding" next July. And because it's a rainy day in the city, I thought I'd go buy some flowers at Ave & Dav, and see if I could play around with a centerpiece that mimics the freshness of the pic above. What do you think? If only I had a blue pot!

it's easy being green

I recently came across these pretty eco-friendly wedding dresses created by Canadian designer Margaret MacLeod. These little numbers are made from organic, sustainable and recycled fabrics like hemp and silk. And just as importantly, they don't scrimp on style - the gowns are both feminine and flowy and lovely.

Sorry Kermie...but with these lovely gown options, it's easy being green!
