The time has FINALLY come, and the Bloomers are so incredibly excited to reveal...drumroll please...Shayna Bloomer's Vintage Circus Wedding! We have been waiting a whole 4 months, bursting at the seams, just waiting to release these amazing photos. And the reason for the wait? Because WedLuxe Magazine, one of Canada's must coveted luxury wedding magazines, decided to feature it in this Winter issue! The magazine is finally out on the stands today, so be sure to pick a copy up this week!We hope you enjoy Shayna Bloomer's vintage wedding dress, which was found in Kensington market and made extra beautiful by good friend Rashmi Baird. Enjoy the old antique benches and chairs from the personal collection of our beloved mother, the late Dody "Original Bloomer" Segal (and also from some of Dody's friends, thank you!), who loved antiques and Victoria magazine, and who has inspired the Bloomers to be who we are today! The antique doilies you see on the tables also belonged to Dody Bloomer as well - we sewed them together into the table runners. Also enjoy the pictures of Spyke, the sweetest, most patient dwarfed-dwarf pony, belonging to Wendy and Craig Jackson in Uxbridge. And the delicious, super fun circus foods were created by Empire Catering. These amazing photos were taken by the fantastic photographers at Ikonica - thank you so much to Jackson, Jillian and Lisa at Ikonica - the team is so talented, so energetic and so spectacular! And of course, all of the design concepts, the decor, graphics and florals were all created by yours truly, inBloom Event Design. We are so proud to have developed a wedding that was more of a party - a celebration truly reflecting the exuberant and creative personality of our partner, Shayna Bloomer. This is the way weddings should be done - completely and 100% you! So, without further ado, my fellow Bloomers, we now present our very own Shayna and Dan's long-awaited circus wedding! Enjoy!!
On my weekly perusal of Urban Outfitters I happened upon their "Doily Trio" that they are selling for $20. And to think of the back breaking work my poor Grandma and Melanie Bloomer went through to connect all our doilies for table runners for the Circus wedding! Do you know how tricky it is to sew flimsy doilies together?! They do NOT like to cooperate!!
See below for a much simpler way to achieve this look...just swipe your credit card and you can walk home happy and with your back and fingers pain free!
I'm not sure I love the exact placement of the picture below {kind of looks TOO much like a grandma house} but I did like the idea of hanging them on your wall like art! I'm going to have to play around with that methinks.
I know all of you are dying to know and see how it all turned out. We have no pictures yet, but I wanted to let you all know that Shayna Bloomer's vintage circus wedding turned out perfectly! It was so much fun and simply beautiful! It began with a beautiful dwarf horse with Farrah Fawcett hair, named Spyke, that posed with guests in a photo booth, while guests got to dress up in fun costumes and use fake mustaches! Then, on to a loverly ceremony marked by flowing teal ribbons from the trees, a collection of small and tall antique wood chairs and benches for guests to sit on, and 100s of sparklers to commerate Shayna and Dan's binding kiss! The doily runners turned out loverly across all the antique wood tables, with dahlias, billy buttons and queen anne's lace centerpieces scattered everywhere...with popcorn machines, cotton candy, pretzels, candle apples, an adorable contortionist, hula hoops for dancing, and a heart-shaped fire pit for roasting marshmallows, it was truly a night to remember! We promise to post pics as soon as we can!
In light of my upcoming circus wedding {in case you haven't heard...ha!} I've been doing a lot of research trying to find fun, modern twists you can add to an outfit to wear to a circus wedding or perhaps just for a night on the town! Its kind of strange how much circus is influencing fashion out there right now!
Check out this gorgeous dress found on *kdon* photostream on flickr.
I really really want this beautiful jacket from Top Shop
Love Jennifer Hudson's casual take. Britney looks awesome for a performance/show but I'm not really liking Paula's version...maybe if she took away the big ruffly neck that looks like a choking shirt!
I would love to wear a combination like this...it looks like so much fun! If I weren't the bride at the wedding I might be a guest that wore this!
Then after all my research I discovered that someone already did it for me! Check out The Fashion-y Blog for a whole lotta circus inspired clothing!
And here is one for the mans!
Melanie Bloomer's Craiger got me on to searching for mini top hats for the circus wedding. I had no idea there was a whole world out there of mini top hat art pieces!! And would you believe it that I actually found one at le Chateau on Queen Street yesterday?! Its like the designers at le Chateau made clothes specifically for a vintage circus wedding...its slightly uncanny! For anyone who hasn't figured out their dress yet you should go take a boo!
Here are a few mini finds hanging around the web!

{this one from hey sailor would be perfect for the yellow and teal circus wedding!}
Finally!! I have been waiting so long to be able to share the invitations to our circus wedding! Each part took quite some time but it was so worth the wait! It started when I asked my bestest friend Rashmi to create a circus-inspired invite. With our mutual love of circus and her insanely creative artistic talents I had not a worry in the world it would turn out to be perfect. She suggested she try to make an old-fashioned circus poster and low and behold this masterpiece was created!!
Joelle Bloomer then took the full-sized painting and added her uber talented graphic touch. I searched long and hard for some "Admit One" tickets, and after a bit of a panic discovered that once again, the wonderful world of Etsy had not failed me! I purchased the blank admit one tickets in shades of yellow and brown from a few different vendors {withatwist and pinktwilight} but one in particular, schOOLLOcker gave me a free package of tickets as a wedding prezzie!!! It was so sweet! Thank you again! Then I went out on a mission to find an "Admit One" stamp. I thought surely it would be an easy find...wrong again! But then Joelle Bloomer informed me her hubby's parents' company could order me a custom-made one! I finally received it {it was so adorable!} and then I had to practice my fine motor skills and stamp all those tiny tickets...wasn't easy to hit that little mark!!
So...without further ado...here they are!! We just love them so much and hope you do too!

A friend and I were shopping in Kensington Market last week looking at old crinoline skirts that might come in handy for the Practice Wedding. Little did I know, instead of crinoline, I was going to actually find my Practice Wedding Dress!! Hanging innocently in the window of a second-hand shop, my astute eye {the same snazzy one that also fell in love with Kate Hudson's wedding dress from You, Me and Dupree} noticed it from down the street. With single-minded focus I made a bee-line for the store just knowing this dress was mine. Its like it was just waiting for me to come along....a little Chrismukkah miracle!
No fuss or alterations....this is about ten minutes after I brought it home! I'm in love...
I forgot to post these images I found on Black*Eiffel a while back. The photographer Josh Goleman seems to have captured the same feeling I would like to convey in our Practice Wedding. I was so happy I stumbled across them again!
Also on Black*Eiffel I found this awesome pic! Vintage dress lanterns!! Now why didn't I think of that?!
